Crazycat Gets Cosy: Self-Reflection
26 JUNE 2018
7-9PM
WEWORK 71 ROBINSON
During our Letting Your Light Shine launch event, we had a Q&A session after our panel discussion where three brave women asked some very personal questions and shared their truths in a room of 300 people. We then realised that despite there being hundreds of people, those women felt safe enough to be vulnerable and we saw the importance of creating a safe space for our community of everyday women.
Following our maiden event, we wanted to create a safe offline space to hold the more difficult, deeper/vulnerable and often necessary conversations that we may not usually have. With a different theme for each session, we hope to discuss various issues that occur in our daily lives – the highs and especially the lows – and seek new perspectives from newfound friendships that may allow us to be even better versions of ourselves and recognise that we are definitely not alone in this journey called life.
At our first session of Crazycat Gets Cosy we focused on our own self-reflection. Self-care is not so much just taking care of yourself physically, but being introspective and being in touch with your mental, emotional and spiritual self. What can you do and what are the kind of (tough) questions you can pose to yourself to make sure you are able to shine through?
The session was incredibly heartfelt; parts of it to be honest felt like a purge of sorts! We had educators, researchers, the funemployed, daughters grieving the loss of their dads, a young woman right on the cusp of 21… and they were all there with us to do some much needed self-reflection. It was raw, authentic, and together we were just soaking in all the love and energy in the room. Oh, and did we mention the scrumptious food we had too? All thanks to All Things Delicious!
